Dr. Amy Miller-Guhl was born and raised in East Brunswick, NJ. Her family later moved to Colorado Springs, where she graduated from Air Academy High School in 1990.
She attended the University of Colorado at Boulder, graduating in 1994 with a major in molecular, developmental, and cellular biology and a minor in biochemistry. She then attended the William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine, where she was awarded the Scholl Merit Scholarship and earned her doctor of podiatric medicine in 2000.
Dr. Miller-Guhl completed two years of residency training at the St. Louis Veterans Affairs Medical Center, which included six months of surgical training at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, MD.
In 2002, she moved to Milwaukee and has been practicing in the area since then. Since 2007, she has been co-director of Waukesha Foot Specialists with her husband, Dr. David Guhl.
Dr. Miller-Guhl is committed to providing individualized treatments tailored to the specialized needs of her patients. She holds a special interest in women’s and children’s foot health. She is a member of the national and state podiatric medical associations, and is an associate of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons.
Throughout high school and college, Dr. Miller-Guhl was an avid figure skater and served as president of the University of Colorado Figure Skating Club. She currently lives in Elm Grove with her husband and two children, Joseph and Ella. She enjoys hiking, swimming, and spending time with her family.

Dr. David Guhl was born and raised in the Milwaukee area. He graduated from Marquette University High School in 1986, then earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in exercise physiology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
His father, Dr. James F. Guhl, MD, was an orthopedic surgeon and one of the pioneers and world leaders in arthroscopic surgery, having practiced for many years in Milwaukee. The support and guidance of his family, his extensive educational background and his active participation and interest in sports and sports medicine played key roles in his chosen profession.
He earned his doctorate from the William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine in Chicago in 2000, then dedicated two years of post-graduate training in a podiatric surgical residency program at Winona Memorial Hospital in Indianapolis.
In 2002, Dr. Guhl moved back to the Milwaukee area and has been practicing in the Milwaukee/Waukesha area since then. In 2007, he assumed the role of co-director of Waukesha Foot Specialists along with his wife, Dr. Amy Miller-Guhl.
Dr. David Guhl has adopted an individualized approach to foot and ankle care, taking into account a patient’s age, occupation, activity level, medical history, foot type and shoes. His knowledge and training allow him to help his patients make informed decisions and choose the best treatment program that fits their specific needs. He has a special interest in sports medicine and the treatment of athletic injuries. He is a member of the American Podiatric Medical Association and Wisconsin Society of Podiatric Medicine.
Dr. Guhl was a member of the varsity track team in high school and lettered in varsity football. In college, he won a national championship as a member of the men’s rowing team in 1987. Today, he enjoys many outdoor activities including hiking, bicycling, and sailing. He is an Assistant Scoutmaster for his son’s Boy Scout Troop. He is an avid sports fan and enjoys cheering for his favorite teams, including the Wisconsin Badgers, Green Bay Packers, and Milwaukee Brewers. He also enjoys spending time with wife, Dr. Amy Miller-Guhl, and their two children, Joseph and Ella.
